Oviedo man accused of downloading, trading child porn

Suspect faces 10 counts of child pornography possession

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – An Oviedo man is accused of downloading child pornography so he could trade it with other people on the Internet, according to the Seminole County Sheriff's Office.

A tip was received in December about child pornography being uploaded to Skype a month earlier and deputies determined it came from a home in Seminole County, according to the arrest report.

Deputies said Keith Freerksen, 24, admitted to using several different apps to download and trade child pornography.

"He admitted post-Miranda that he would trade child pornography, and that what was on there was child pornography, and that he retained it for future trading opportunities," state prosecutors said during his first appearance.

Freerksen was arrested Wednesday on ten counts of possession of child pornography.

During a court appearance Wednesday, Freerksen's public defender argued that investigators do not have enough probable cause to prove Freerksen was possessing child pornography.

"He came to the conclusion it was child pornography without having any indication of what he saw in the police report to give the court an idea of what he looked at," public defender Larry Kowal said.

The judge gave the state 24 hours to produce the evidence to support the charges against Freerksen. Another court appearance is scheduled for Friday.
