Deputies ID Deltona man found fatally shot near ditch Man found beside vehicle with gunshot wound, deputies say No description found
DELTONA, Fla. – Deputies are investigating after a man was found dead with a gunshot wound Saturday in Deltona, the Volusia County Sheriff's Office said.
Deputies responded just before 8 p.m. to the intersection of Malaga Avenue and Puritan Street.
Deputies said a caller reported a car was stuck in a ditch and a man was lying on the ground behind it.
It was soon discovered the man, who was later identified as 60-year-old Carlos Cruz Echevarria, had a gunshot wound and no pulse, deputies said. Echevarria was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies said sheriff's detectives are investigating the case.
