Man found dead in Kissimmee; homicide investigation underway

Police: Investigation underway on Donegan Avenue

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – A man was found dead Wednesday morning in Kissimmee, according to the police department.

Police said the investigation began around 8:40 a.m., when officers found a man dead in the 400 block of Donegan Avenue.

Due to what police said appeared to be obvious signs of trauma on the man's body, his death is being investigated as a homicide. detectives said.

"There's obvious signs of trauma to the body, not consistent with a fall or a natural cause of death," Stacie Miller, with the Kissimmee Police Department, said. 

Rob Figueroa works across the street, and called 911 after the owner who found the body came running and asking for help. 

"Seeing something like that, it turns my stomach," he said. "I haven't seen something like that since I was a little kid. This is the first time I've seen a body like that." 

Details about the victim or a potential suspect have not been released.

Later in the day, several other crime scenes were established, across the street along a row of auto body businesses. Officers wouldn't say how they was connected to the investigation, if at all, but they could be seen inspecting and collecting evidence around one car, and the back window of another was broken. 

Wednesday night, police investigators loaded all of the evidence they had gathered into large paper bags and transported it all to the Kissimmee Police Department.

They removed the crime scene tape, and they fully re-opened Donegan Avenue to traffic.
