Pedestrian dies after being hit by car in Apopka, officials say

Troopers say crash occurred Friday night on Apopka Blvd

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A man is dead after being hit by a car Friday night in Apopka, according to officials from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the crash occurred at 8:50 p.m. on Apopka Boulevard near Sugar Pine Road. The victim was a 65-year-old man from Apopka. His name has not been released.

The man walked into the path of a 2004 Ford Mustang that was traveling north on Apopka Boulevard, officials said. Troopers said the victim died after being taken to Florida Hospital Altamonte. They said the driver of the Mustang was not injured.

The crash is under investigation.
