Police investigating suspicious death of 65-year-old in Winter Park

Officers say no suspects at large

WINTER PARK, Fla. – A 65-year-old man is dead under suspicious circumstances, according to officials from the Winter Park Police Department.

Officers said they were called to the 1200 block of Temple Drive around 9:30 a.m. Saturday. They said no suspects are at large, no one is in police custody and the victim's cause of death is unknown.

"There are indications that concern us enough to call it suspicious at this point," said Division Chief Pam Marcum, with Winter Park police.

For much of the day, detectives with the Winter Park Police Forensics Unit gathered evidence inside the house, while officers outside spoke with neighbors as part of their investigation.

Neighbors told News 6 the family who lives at the home is well-liked. Officers are still not saying who was involved in this suspicious death.

Winter Park police have not released the name of the deceased individual while they continue to notify family members.

"We do believe it was an isolated incident," Marcum said. "We do not feel anyone in the neighborhood should be concerned at all about their safety or the well-being of any of their neighbors."

No further details have been released. The investigation is ongoing. An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday.
