BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – A Brevard County homeowner shot two masked intruders Thursday, killing them both, according to Sheriff's Office officials.

The Brevard County Sheriff's Office said the home invasion shooting was reported at 12:33 p.m. near West Court, west of U.S. 1, in the north Titusville/Mims area.

A spokesperson for the Sheriff's Office said two masked, armed men broke into the home, and the homeowner shot them.

Deputies said one of the intruders died in the home. The second intruder later died at the hospital.

The shooting appears to be justified, deputies said.

The names of the intruders and the homeowner have not been released.

The investigation is ongoing.
