Trams stop at Orlando airport after power interruption

Outage lasted for about an hour

ORLANDO, Fla. – A power interruption caused two trams at Orlando International Airport to stop for about an hour Tuesday afternoon, according to airport officials.

The two automated people mover trams connecting Airside 1 to the main terminal building stopped working at about 12:55 p.m. and were operational again by 1:53 p.m.

A spokeswoman said the tram doors were opened during the stoppage, which allowed passengers to walk to gates one through 29. A bus was also used to shuttle passengers to Airside 3 so they could then be transported to the main terminal building.

JetBlue, Frontier Airlines and Alaska Airlines passengers were affected.
