OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – A 58-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Osceola County Sunday morning, Florida Highway Patrol officials said.
Troopers said Margarita Contreras, of Boca Raton, was searching for her wallet on Orange Blossom Trail, south of Osceola Parkway, just before 1:15 a.m. when she was fatally hit by a northbound vehicle.

Contreras had just been involved in a previous crash with another vehicle in the same area, according to the Highway Patrol.
When Contreras and the driver of the other vehicle moved their vehicles to a nearby parking lot, she thought she had dropped her wallet, so she walked into the road to look for it and was hit by the front of another vehicle, troopers said.
Witnesses told troopers that the driver of the vehicle that hit Contreras did not stop, according to the crash report. The vehicle was described as a tan or gold passenger vehicle that may have suffered damage to the front.
Contreras was taken to Osceola Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, troopers said.
The Highway Patrol said the crash is still being investigated and charges are pending against the driver who fled.
