Driver dies after crashing stolen car in Seminole County, troopers say

Car crashed into trees, rolled, FHP says

SANFORD, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating after a driver crashed a stolen car and died Saturday morning, troopers said.

Troopers said the driver of a Ford SUV was driving north on Beardall Avenue, just north of Hughey Street, when the SUV veered off the road, struck trees and rolled, troopers said.

The driver was ejected from the SUV and pronounced dead at the scene, the Highway Patrol said.

Troopers said Sanford police conducted a stolen vehicle report and found that the SUV was confirmed stolen out of Sanford.

The Highway Patrol is still working to identify the driver and the crash remains under investigation.
