HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – A Hillsborough County man was arrested Sunday morning, accused of going 154 mph on I-4.

A Florida Highway Patrol trooper says he saw Cirilo Rayo-Callejas of Plant City speeding past traffic in a Ford Mustang, driving at 95 mph and changing lanes without signaling on wet roads in the eastbound lanes of I-4 near Tampa.

According to the arrest report, the trooper pulled his vehicle behind Rayo-Callejas to conduct a traffic stop, but the Mustang increased speed, reaching 154 mph. The trooper activated his lights and sirens and pulled the Mustang over near U.S. 301.

Rayo-Callejas was arrested for charges of reckless driving and dangerous excessive speeds and taken to Hillsborough County Jail.

They’re listed on the arrest report as misdemeanor offenses.
