KISSIMMEE, Fla. – New details are emerging about law enforcement’s efforts to locate 13-year-old Madeline Soto after she failed to show up for class at Hunter’s Creek Middle School in February and was reported missing.
Authorities believe Soto was sexually molested, strangled and dumped in a wooded area by her mother’s boyfriend, Stephan Sterns.
Sterns, who faces the death penalty if convicted of killing Soto, has pleaded not guilty and is awaiting trial.
