Kissimmee officer arrested, terminated after writing threats to ex-girlfriend, police say

He has been relieved of duty, officials said.

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – A Kissimmee officer was arrested by his department on Monday after writing threats to his ex-girlfriend, officials said.

According to a press release from the Kissimmee Police Department, former officer Luis Perez was relieved of duty after he was arrested. Perez was charged with written threats against his ex-girlfriend, who he has a child with, police said.

“The City of Kissimmee Police Department takes these matters seriously and always expects the agency members to remain professional,” a Kissimmee police representative said.

Perez has been relieved of duty pending a criminal investigation, officials said.
