MAITLAND, Fla. – A woman weaving in and out of traffic on a motorcycle was critically injured in a crash on Interstate 4 near Orlando, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 7:55 a.m. on I-4 east near Maitland Boulevard, north of Orlando in Orange County.
According to the FHP, witnesses said the motorcyclist was weaving in and out of traffic on the main line of I-4 east and lost control of her bike as she tried to avoid a vehicle that was slowing down. The motorcycle struck a guardrail that separates the main line of I-4 with the express lanes, troopers said.
The woman was taken to a hospital in critical condition, the FHP said.
All I-4 east and express lanes were closed in the area, but all eastbound lanes, except the right express lane, were later reopened.
