🔓Meet News 6′s newest reporter, Orlando native Catherine Silver

One of the perks of being a News 6 Insider is getting the scoop on our news team before anyone else.

This week we’re welcoming our newest reporter, Catherine Silver.

Catherine joins the News 6 team from Colorado Springs, Colorado, but she’s no stranger to Central Florida. In fact, she was born and raised in Orlando, graduating from Bishop Moore Catholic High School, before heading to college at Florida State University.

She enjoys spending time outdoors and said there’s nothing better than a day at the beach. Catherine also loves to dance, was in a ballet company in high school and now teaches ballet, lyrical and jazz classes on the side.

Catherine’s first job was being a “skipper” on the Jaws ride at Universal Studios. (Remember that ride?) She said it’s, “A truly one-of-a-kind experience -- riding through the movie every 5 minutes.” And if Catherine wasn’t working in local TV news now, she’d be a lawyer.

While she worked at Universal, Catherine said her favorite theme park is Disney’s Hollywood Studios and her favorite ride is Tower of Terror.

Her favorite place she’s traveled is Greece and spending time in London is on Catherine’s bucket list.
