DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A Daytona Beach police officer was arrested Thursday, accused of sharing child pornography on social media.

The agency said Officer Brandon Fox, 22, was arrested after an investigation into someone sharing images and videos of sex acts involving children under the age of 10.

Police said they began their investigation into Fox in February after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Fox, who has been with the department for two years, was arrested on seven counts of possession of child pornography. Police believe a search warrant executed at Fox’s home may lead to more charges.

Records show that Fox had received four commendations as well as a written reprimand for failure to activate his body-worn camera.

He was taken to Volusia County jail. The Daytona Beach Police Department also immediately fired Fox from the agency.
