VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A man who was 17 when he was arrested for a kidnapping and murder in 2019 was found guilty Thursday by a Volusia County jury.

Dionysius Nicols, 20, was convicted in the death of Randy Mueller.

Mueller, 34, was found dead at his home July 23, 2019.

Prosecutors said Nicols and four other suspects tortured the victim. At the time of Nicols arrest, Brandon Craft, Julian Fadley, Aziz Felder and Jaheim Hicks were also charged with first-degree murder and kidnapping.

Police found Mueller with his hands tied behind his back, a plastic bag over his head and a gunshot wound to the head.

Nicols faces up to life in prison when he is sentenced.
