Orange County Fire Battalion Chief Brett Wasmund said firefighters battled the blaze for up to 40 minutes, extinguishing flames while protecting neighboring homes.

It’s not known if anyone was living in the home.

Neighbors said workers alerted them to the fire.

“If it wasn’t for the guys working at the nightclub, I don’t know if we would have got out in time,” a neighbor said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
