SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – A fire at a home in the Longwood area Sunday night was caused by used fireworks in a wet bag.
The Seminole County Fire Department said the fire started outside the garage of a home on Valley Drive around 10:40 p.m. That’s where the used fireworks had been left in a wet plastic bag.

It burned into the garage and up into the attic. Fire crews were able to contain it there.
No one was hurt.
Experts say used fireworks should be soaked in a bucket of water for several hours before putting them in a bag inside your garbage can. Fireworks can continue to burn inside long after they’ve stopped sparking.
