Deputies: Florida bride, caterer served marijuana-laced food

LONGWOOD, Fla. — (AP) — A 42-year-old Florida bride and her 31-year-old caterer are accused of serving food laced with marijuana to unsuspecting guests at a wedding reception. The arrest report says several tested positive for THC, the psychoactive compound in marijuana. A detective wrote in the report that guests said they had not been warned about the laced food. Another guest told deputies that after feeling stoned, she asked the bride if cannabis was in the food and was told “yes" by the smiling bride, an affidavit said. Samples of food, including chocolate-covered strawberries, pudding ‘shot’ desserts, and lasagna, were collected and later tested positive for THC, according to the report.

The condition is not expected to be as prevalent in kids ages 5 to 11 as it is in teens, Dr. Matthew Oster, a pediatric cardiologist with the CDC, told the committee Tuesday.

Central Florida's first responders do much more than their job description requires of them. That's why we like to take a few minutes each week to highlight the good work they're doing in and for their communities. I-4 floods again in construction zone, drain blocked again

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. - Sunday night, all lanes were blocked on Interstate 4 westbound in the Longwood area due to flooding for the second time in a little more than a week. FDOT said drain inlets were again blocked by trash and debris, the same reason the same area flooded on Aug.1. Monday afternoon, FDOT spokesperson Jessica Ottaviano said the contractor responsible for the $2.3 billion I-4 Ultimate project will work to prevent future flooding in the Longwood area. Sunday night's flooding was at least the sixth time I-4 construction zones have been underwater in the past few months. "The contractor is aware of the department's position, that the roadway should remain passable and flooding should not occur," Ottaviano said.
