Longwood man arrested in Lake Mary fatal hit-and-run crash

LAKE MARY, Fla. – A Longwood man is facing charges after he fled the scene of a deadly crash Tuesday night in Lake Mary, police said.

At 11 p.m., officers responding to the scene near West Lake Mary Boulevard and Wheelhouse Lane found an unresponsive driver. First responders performed life-saving measures, but the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police located a suspect vehicle and driver, O’Vante O’Lan Redding, near West Lake Mary Boulevard and Forest Boulevard.

Redding, of Longwood, was taken into custody and charged with DUI manslaughter, leaving the scene of a crash involving death, and vehicular homicide.

The identity of the victim has not been released. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
