Tavares police looking for man wanted on battery charges

TAVARES, Fla. – Tavares police said they are trying to find a man who ran away from officers as they tried to arrest him on a battery charge.

According to a news release, Harold Burke has an active felony warrant for battery by strangulation. When police tried to make contact with Burke, he ran from officers.

Police said he was last seen wearing red shorts and a black shirt.

According to the release, police are trying to locate Burke in the area of Mansfield Road and Hibiscus Court.
