ORLANDO, Fla. – A family in East Orlando continues to face challenges after a sewage backup caused by a burst pipe in their driveway.

On March 27, News 6 reported on the Styc family, whose home was inundated with sewage water due to a damaged Orange County sewage line, which was linked to Comcast.

Despite initial assistance from News 6 reporter Laverne McGee, the family has yet to see repairs completed in their home.

Homeowner Damien Sticks described the chaos, stating, “That was the shower, and it began to pump water up through here. Up from that drain and out from under the toilet. When I realized, I had a serious problem. Sewage water everywhere.”

After reaching out for help again, Styc expressed frustration over being referred from one company to another without resolution.

“You are telling me it’s been a run around for you? Yes, I have been pushed from one company to another, various subcontractors and insurance companies,” he told News 6.

Comcast acknowledged its responsibility for the damage but has not provided a timeline for repairs. A statement from the company indicated they are working closely with their business partner to expedite the process for the homeowner.

Styc remains hopeful but skeptical, stating, “There’s been a lot of promises that we were going to get white glove service, but so far, not a lot of actual action.”

News 6 will continue to follow up on this situation.
