MELBOURNE, Fla. – A Melbourne man on Monday claimed a $1 million prize from a scratch-off game that he bought in town, according to Florida Lottery.
Douglas Marbry, 63, opted to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $640,000, a Florida Lottery news release states.
Marbry bought the winning “GOLD RUSH LEGACY” ticket from the Circle K at 4001 N. Wickham Road in Melbourne, according to the release.
The retailer received a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket, the release states.

“GOLD RUSH LEGACY” is a $20 game that features more than $894 million in cash prizes, including four top prizes of $10 million and 20 prizes of $1 million, with overall winning odds of 1-in-2.97, Florida Lottery said.
