MELBOURNE, Fla. – Cell phone video shows the moments a train slammed into a semitruck that was stuck on railroad tracks in Melbourne.
Around 9 a.m. on Thursday, the Melbourne Police Department said it was contacted about a Florida East Coast train striking a semitruck.
Police said the crash occurred on the tracks as the truck crossed Lake Washington. The FEC train was northbound and struck the semitruck, which had become disabled on the railroad tracks prior to the crash. The driver of the semitruck exited the truck and moved to a safe location once the train arms came down.
There were no reported injuries during this incident.
The crash is under investigation. All eastbound and westbound traffic was closed due to the crash, but reopened.
