INDIAN HARBOUR BEACH, Fla. – Multiple would-be thieves attempted to remove an ATM from a Truist Bank in Indian Harbour Beach using a pickup truck and a chain, the police department said.
Just before 5:30 a.m. Monday, police responded to the bank and determined from witness statements and evidence collected that multiple individuals dressed in dark clothing and masks had attached a chain from an ATM to a pickup truck in an attempt to “forcibly remove the machine from its foundation,” a news release stated.

Officials said the attempt was unsuccessful after the truck became stuck in the dirt.
Witnesses told the authorities that the thieves left the disabled truck and fled across to the street to a waiting getaway vehicle, a dark-colored Tesla, the release said.
The Tesla was last seen speeding westbound over the Eau Gallie Causeway, police said.
The police department is asking anyone with information related to this incident to contact Detective Enith Clermont at (321) 773-3030.
