Crews extinguish flames after 2 Universal Orlando buses catch fire

No injuries reported; unclear how fire began

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Crews successfully put out a fire that affected two buses at Universal Orlando’s bus depot on Friday, a spokesperson with Orange County Fire Rescue confirmed.

The spokesperson said firefighters responded to reports of a “fully involved bus fire” at the depot. She said no one was hurt and no one needed to be taken to the hospital.

She confirmed that the two buses impacted were electric buses which run on lithium batteries. She referred all further questions to Universal.

It’s not clear how the fire started or if anyone was inside either bus at the time.
