OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – A 51-mile stretch of Florida’s Turnpike is set to close overnight this week.
The Turnpike closed overnight southbound on Monday, July 28 and will now also overnight northbound. Northbound Florida’s Turnpike will be fully closed overnight from 12-5 a.m. Thursday, July 31, between Yeehaw Junction/S.R. 60 (Exit 193) and Kissimmee/St. Cloud/US 92/U.S. 441 (Exit 242).
The closure is part of Osceola County’s Neptune Road Widening and Improvement Project and will allow crews to install bridge beams for the Neptune Road bridge over the turnpike.
Drivers heading north will be detoured to exit at Yeehaw Junction, travel west on S.R. 60 to U.S. 441, then north on U.S. 441 to U.S. 192, and west on U.S. 192 to rejoin northbound Florida’s Turnpike.
Traffic on S.R. 60 wishing to access northbound turnpike will be directed to U.S. 441 north to U.S. 192 west to the turnpike entrance.
Canoe Creek Service Plaza visitors aiming for northbound turnpike will be directed south on the turnpike to exit at Yeehaw Junction and follow the same detour route.
This work supports the Neptune Road bridge installation as part of Osceola County’s Neptune Road Widening and Improvement Project. For more information, call the project hotline at 407-710-0050.
