In a release, deputies said that investigators had been looking into a drug-trafficking organization operating out of the Leesburg area.

“The investigation began with complaints from a concerned citizen,” the release reads.
However, undercover detectives said they were eventually able to pin the main suspect as Jartavious Coleman, 22.
According to investigators, Coleman was already on probation for cocaine possession as a drug trafficker, having been responsible for distributing illicit narcotics throughout Lake, Sumter, Marion and Putnam counties.
As a result of the investigation, detectives said they executed several search warrants with the help of the LCSO and Mid-Florida SWAT Teams.
“Detectives obtained 11 arrest warrants for several felony warrants involving trafficking in narcotics, and additional arrest warrants are pending further investigation,” the release continues.
Deputies said that around 2.5 pounds of methamphetamine, 5 ounces of cocaine, 1 ounce of fentanyl, 4 pounds of cannabis, several “clandestine” oxycodone pills, and nine firearms were seized. Of the seized firearms, two were identified as stolen out of Lake County.
Overall, the sheriff’s office estimated the street value of the seized drugs at around $20,000.
Now, Coleman faces the following charges:
- Conspiracy to commit trafficking in methamphetamine over 200 grams
- Trafficking in methamphetamine over 200 grams
- Conspiracy to commit trafficking in cocaine
- Trafficking in methamphetamine over 28 grams (two counts)
- Trafficking in fentanyl over 4 grams (two counts)
- Possession of cocaine with intent to sell
- Sale of cocaine
- Conspiracy to possess buprenorphine (suboxone)
- Possession of a property with knowledge that the property will be used for the purpose of sale or trafficking in a controlled substance
- Possession of a conveyance with knowledge that the property will be used for the purpose of sale or trafficking in a controlled substance
- Possession of methamphetamine
- Unlawful use of a two-way communication device
“Due to Jartavious Coleman being on probation and the significance of the charges, he was given a no-bond, which was granted by a judge during his first appearance,” the release concludes.
Coleman’s court date has been scheduled for Sept. 8.
