SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. – A convicted sexual predator was arrested after Florida troopers caught him speeding in a pickup truck with sirens activated on Interstate 75, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The incident happened Sunday in Sumter County.

According to an arrest report, troopers were looking for a Dodge Ram that was reported to have been speeding on I-75 with flashing amber lights and a siren.
A trooper spotted the Dodge Ram near mile marker 312 and pulled the truck over, the report states. The trooper told the driver, identified as Anthony Lee Tripp, that they had received several calls reporting his truck had active lights and a siren being used.
Tripp told the trooper his truck was not equipped with that; however, the trooper spoke with witnesses who reported the Dodge Ram with lights and a siren and the trooper searched the truck and found a siren box, the arrest report says.
Tripp was arrested and faces a charge of false impersonation.
