ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A woman and a man were shot and killed early Friday in Orange County, the latter of whom appears to have shot himself, according to the sheriff’s office.
News 6 went to the scene at Lake Sherwood Apartments off Apopka Vineland Road, where a neighbor told us they heard gunshots in the 5 o’clock hour.
“All I heard was two gunshots, and then I heard sirens, and then what made me get out of bed and come downstairs was I heard somebody downstairs, like, yelling and screaming. So then I came downstairs and then I just see the body lying on the floor with a tarp covering it with a whole bunch of police officers,” the neighbor said.
In an update, the sheriff’s office said deputies had responded around 5:35 a.m. to locate two people outside of an apartment who had been shot.
The two people, a woman in her 30s and a man in his 40s, were both pronounced dead at the scene, according to the update. The man appeared to have a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the sheriff’s office said, adding the incident was domestic in nature and all parties were accounted for.
An investigation is said to be ongoing.
