ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – An arrest has been made months after the attempted rape of a woman along Little Econ Greenway trail, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office on Friday said Jacoby Vontrell Tillman, 23, was arrested in the July 25 attack near Yates Road.

Deputies said the woman was attacked from behind while she was running along the trail that morning. Video was released a few days after that sheriff’s officials said showed a person of interest moments before the attack.

The sheriff’s office said it received a tip on Thursday to make the arrest.

Tillman faces charges of attempted sexual battery, battery by strangulation, and false imprisonment.

He has since bonded out of jail after a judge set bond at $9,500. The judge set several conditions for his release, including no contact with the victim and not returning to the scene of the crime.

The state attorney’s office issued a statement Tuesday regarding Tillman’s release:

After reviewing the facts of this case, our office felt that the release of the defendant was not appropriate, and he presents a danger to our community. We argued this point to the Judge and requested pretrial detention. Ultimately the Judge, in her authority, made the decision to issue a bond in the case. Our office is not the final decision maker in matters such as these and it is important to note that multiple entities are involved in the pursuit of justice including law enforcement and the judicial branch.
