AUBURNDALE, Fla. – A man, who traveled to Auburndale from far out of state, accused of giving a minor alcohol and attempting to have sex with them was found out by the child’s mother and arrested during a crash investigation, according to police.

Jesus Moisesbravo Beltran, 26, faces charges of transmission of material harmful to minors by electronic device, unlawful use of a two-way communication device, lewd and lascivious molestation, traveling to meet a minor, interference with child custody, lewd and lascivious battery, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, the Auburndale Police Department said.

Auburndale police responded around 10 a.m. Saturday to a hit-and-run crash reported at the Walmart along Highway 92 West, making contact with Beltran — who was behind the wheel in the suspect vehicle — and observing that a 15-year-old child was in his passenger seat, the release states.

After the child’s mother got to the scene and retrieved the child’s phone, she allegedly found a text-message thread between Beltran and the child in which Beltran had allegedly sent sexually-explicit verbiage, photos and videos, according to the release.

The child told investigators that Beltran provided them alcohol while the two were together, adding they blacked out after drinking it. When they woke up, the child said their shorts had been removed and Beltran’s head was “down there,” according to police.

Beltran was thus arrested to face the first five aforementioned charges.

Within several days however, investigators who conducted a forensic interview with the child said it was disclosed that Beltran had held the child down and latter two charges of lewd and lascivious battery, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Beltran had traveled from Umatilla, Oregon, to Auburndale, a trip of some 2,900 miles, police said.
