The Cocoa Beach Police Department responded around 11:40 a.m. Thursday to Beachside Hotel & Suites at 3901 North Atlantic Avenue to a reported burglary and battery.

Police said Moon forced his way into a hotel room, where the victim was cleaning, and physically battered the victim. The department also said he tried to force the victim to perform sex acts before the victim fought him off and he ran away.

Police said the suspect’s description matched another person who was previously reported for suspicious behavior at nearby places.

Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Moon, who was taken into custody after midnight Friday at a “local adult establishment.”

He faces charges of burglary with battery, attempted sexual battery and false imprisonment.

An investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Cocoa Beach Police Department at 321-868-3251.
