APOPKA, Fla. – A 20-year-old man is accused of shooting and killing a driver who took him home over the weekend in Apopka, according to police.
Cornelious Bass was arrested and faced a judge Monday.
According to police, Bass was getting a ride home when a witness said she saw him get out of the car and heard a gunshot. The driver, who was shot in the back, then fell onto the ground, police said.
Police said Bass then walked into a nearby home and refused to come out for hours.
The driver, who was not identified, later died at a hospital.
Bass faces a charge of murder.
