Firefighters battle brush fire in Sumter County Fire reported off County Road 647 in Bushnell

SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Forest Service responded to another brush fire on Tuesday, this time in Sumter County, according to a social media post by the agency.
Officials said around 5:13 p.m. that they were responding to the brush fire “of undetermined” size of off of 8267 County Road 647 in Bushnell, but said around 6:30 p.m. that the fire was 100% contained.
According to the FFS, Sumter County Fire & EMS is also responding.
Officials ask that the area be avoided to “ensure safe access for emergency personnel.”
