THE VILLAGES, Fla. – Evacuations are underway in a neighborhood in The Villages after possible explosive devices were reported.
The incident is taking place Tuesday near Yucatan Way off Morse Boulevard, west of U.S. 441 in Sumter County.
The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook that someone reported “what appears to be explosive devices.”
“Out of an abundance of caution, homes in the immediate area are being evacuated while these items are safely removed from the home,” the post stated.
The sheriff’s office said the bomb squad has been called to the neighborhood.
No other details, including a description of the devices, have been released.
