Daytona Beach, Fla. – The Daytona Beach Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred early Saturday at the intersection of Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Boulevard and Pearl Street.
A man was found shot in the chest.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for emergency treatment and later died from his injuries.
A second individual, an adult female bystander, later arrived at a local hospital with a graze wound believed to be related to this incident. She is receiving medical treatment and is expected to survive.
The suspect has not been identified. Detectives believe this was an isolated incident and that there is no ongoing threat to the community. Although the shooting occurred within the broader event venue area, investigators do not believe it is related to Bike Week activities.
