‘Boss’ pup Don Jon up for adoption at Orange County Animal Services

Trooper Steve on Patrol visits animal shelter

ORLANDO, Fla. – On Wednesday, while Trooper Steve was on Patrol, I made one of my favorite stops at Orange County Animal Services.

You guys know how much I enjoy highlighting some of the amazing animals waiting for their forever homes, and I got to meet a dog whose personality absolutely lives up to his name.

His name is Don Jon, and let me tell you, this little guy carries himself like a boss.

Don Jon might not be the biggest dog in the shelter, but he may very well be one of the strongest little bundles of muscle I’ve ever seen. He’s compact, solid and packed with personality. The team at the shelter estimates he’s probably somewhere around 6 to 8 years old, but if you watched him run around with us, you’d swear he still had the energy of a puppy.

We spent some time together out on the play area floor, enjoying a beautiful Central Florida morning, and Don Jon made it pretty clear that he’s ready to trade shelter life for a couch, a yard, and a family of his own. He was playful, curious and full of life... the kind of dog that just wants to be near people and part of the action.

From my short time hanging out with him, I’ll tell you this: Don Jon doesn’t need much. Give him a good bath, a little love and a place to call home, and I think he’ll make someone an incredible companion.

If you’re looking to add a new four-legged member to your family, Don Jon is currently waiting for adoption at Orange County Animal Services. Stop by during their open hours, meet him for yourself, and see if this small but mighty guy might be the perfect fit for your home.
