Pedestrian struck and killed by train; SW 3rd Street closed for death investigation Road shut down from S Pine Ave. to SW 7th Ave

OCALA, Fla. – A person was struck and killed by a train Sunday morning in Ocala, police said.
The Ocala Police Department said officers responded around 7:53 a.m. March 15 to the 500 block of SW 3rd Street for a death incident. Police said the individual was struck by a train and died from their injuries.
Officials said there is no danger to the community.
SW 3rd Street is closed from S Pine Ave. to SW 7th Ave. while investigators work the scene.
The road is expected to remain closed for several hours, and drivers are urged to use alternate routes.
