ST. CLOUD, Fla. – A Central Florida man was captured out of state this week in a massive child porn case out of Osceola County, according to Attorney General James Uthmeier.

In a release, Uthmeier announced that the man — identified as Adam Wahlgren, 52, of St. Cloud — was arrested in Arkansas on 80 counts of possessing child sexual abuse materials (CSAM).

“This predator thought that he could escape the consequences of his depraved behavior by running to another state. He was wrong,” Uthmeier said. “In Florida, we will find you and bring you back to face our prosecutors in court.”

Investigators revealed that the investigation was originally launched after the St. Cloud Police Department received a tip that Wahlgren owned, watched and transmitted CSAM via Synchronoss, Verizon’s data storage service.

Detectives said they later searched Wahlgren’s home, where they seized several electronic devices, including a tablet, two laptop computers, a desktop computer, nine USB drives, two external drivers, two SD cards, and 28 hard drives.

“Preliminary extractions of the devices led to the discovery of extremely graphic images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of children, including files in which young children were physically bound,” the release reads. “Over 100,000 files were located on a single device.”

While Wahlgren fled the state during the investigation, he was ultimately caught in Lonoke, Arkansas, on May 1, the police department explained. He is set to be extradited back to Florida.

Furthermore, Wahlgren faces up to 1,200 years in prison if convicted on all counts, investigators added.

“The investigation is ongoing, and more charges may be filed as needed,” the release concludes.
