According to the sheriff’s office, the man in his 40s opened fire on two men in their 20s. A security guard on scene witnessed the shooting and returned fire, striking the suspect.

All three — the gunman and the two victims — were transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. A second person who was with the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle, but was apprehended by deputies a short time later near the intersection of 37th Street and South Orange Blossom Trail, deputies said.
