What’s next? 3 months later, Orlando Rialto residents remain displaced

Community manager says the assessment from engineering continues

ORLANDO, Fla. – It’s been three months since residents at the Rialto apartment complex on Sand Lake Road near Turkey Lake Road in the Orlando area were forced out of their homes as major concerns involving the building’s structure were discovered.

News 6 is now pushing for answers on when, if ever, the people who were displaced can go home.

In a statement, the community manager said, “The assessment from the engineering firm is still underway and we await its report. In the interim, we have put a FAQ page on the Rialto website to provide as much information as we can during this period.”

Back in March, residents reported hearing noises of popping and cracking inside the complex. News 6 has also learned that stucco work on the exterior of the building was done without a required permit, ultimately raising even more questions.
