Businesses evacuated over potential hazard in Palm Bay; people asked to shelter in place

PALM BAY, Fla. – A potentially hazardous situation at a business in Palm Bay is forcing evacuations and a large police and fire rescue presence in the area.

The business is located along Wilhelmina Court NE, off Kingswood Drive NE, west of U.S. 1.

Palm Bay Fire Rescue says the issue involves a container at the FAR Chemical research facility.

Palm Bay Police have evacuated some businesses in the area as a precaution.

They are also asking people within a half-mile radius of the general area to stay indoors for the time being.
