ORLANDO, Fla. – Sunday
High heat continues across Central Florida with heat advisories issued into Sunday. A ridge of high pressure in the upper levels of the atmosphere remains parked over the Deep South, providing for this extremely hot and mostly dry pattern. Highs will hit the upper 90s with heat indices climbing to 108-112ºF. Rain chances remain low, only hitting around 20% in the afternoon. A few isolated showers will develop after 2pm and dot the area until around 7pm. Many of us will stay dry Sunday.
Early Next Week
Sweltering heat and low rain chances continue as we start the work week as this ridge of high pressure remains the dominant driver of our forecast. This will leave highs in the upper 90s and rain chances only 20-30% across Central Florida.
Mid-Week
Rain chances begin to creep up by mid-week as a weak upper level low develops over Florida and pushes into the western Gulf. This will help to break up the ridge and provide a little more moisture and lift in our atmosphere to get showers and storms going. Rain chances raise to 40-50% with highs slightly lowering into the mid 90s for the second half of the week.
