ORLANDO, Fla. – The City of Orlando reopened the newly renovated playground at Leroy Hoequist Park on Thursday — the fifth in a series of 11 playground upgrades the city says it’s committed to delivering.
The updated playground includes a larger play area and new equipment, including more slides and swings, designed for children of different ages.

The park also now has new shade structures to give families relief from the summer heat.
City officials said an improved drainage system was added to help reduce flooding, keeping the playground usable year-round — even after heavy rain.
Orlando leaders say additional park improvements are expected to roll out across neighborhoods over the next two years.
