SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – Gas prices are on the rise again after President Trump announced the end of a ceasefire between the United States and Iran.
According to AAA, the national average for regular unleaded was $3.88 per gallon on Friday.
Jose Springhoff was among several other drivers filling up in Seminole County on Friday and said the cost is becoming unbearable.
“I don’t know how we’re going to keep up. It’s too expensive. Life is expensive,” Springhoff said.
Gas prices spiked and have remained unpredictable after the U.S. and Israel launched a war on Iran in March.
Jen Kersey lives in Sanford and said she’s growing weary of the roller coaster in prices at the pump.
It’s sad. We should be back to where we were at the beginning, when the prices made sense. Now, it’s like you don’t know what’s going to happen," Kersey said.
The unpredictability can also influence buying habits for drivers who have been doing whatever they can to save money.
“I don’t know how people are going to afford it,” Kersey said. “With the gas going up, groceries. People just can’t afford it.”
