ORLANDO, Fla. – Orange County’s supervisor of elections held a public testing of election equipment ahead of the 2026 Primary election on Thursday.
The testing, known as Logic and Accuracy testing, is conducted before every election to confirm that voting-related machines are working properly and counting votes accurately.

The tests give attendees a firsthand look at how ballots are tabulated and how election staff confirms that every piece of equipment is functioning correctly.
Every county elections supervisor is required to hold Logic and Accuracy tests before an election.

During the testing on Thursday, workers ran blank and over-voted ballots to ensure the machines recognized the issues during the tabulation process.
“With election misinformation on the rise, it is more important than ever for the public to see how our systems work,” said Orange County Supervisor of Elections Karen Castor Dentel. “Logic and Accuracy testing is one of the many safeguards that help ensure our elections are accessible, secure, and transparent. We welcome the opportunity to show our community exactly how this process works.”
Orange County’s canvassing board was in attendance to verify the results of each test on Thursday.
Members of the public had the opportunity to film equipment demonstrations, ask detailed questions of elections staff and gain a clearer understanding of how elections are administered behind the scenes.

Signature observation of vote-by-mail ballots is scheduled for July 27 and another public viewing will be held July 31. There will be more observation and public viewing dates in August. They take place at the Supervisor of Elections office at 119 W. Kaley St. in Orlando.
Early voting for the Primary Election in Orange County begins on August 3 and Election Day is August 18.
The election supervisor will also conduct another Logic and Accuracy test ahead of the General Election in November.
That test will take place on Oct. 9 from 9 a.m. to noon at the supervisor of elections office on Kaley Street in Orlando, and again, the public is invited.
