MARION COUNTY, Fla. – The Marion County Sheriff’s Office has filed 81 additional felony charges against a sex crimes suspect after a forensic examination of his mobile device revealed extensive child sexual abuse material — and detectives believe there are more victims who have not yet been identified.
Richard Kohn, 21, has been held without bond at the Marion County Jail since his initial arrest on May 28, 2026.

What the new charges include
The 81 additional charges filed against Kohn are:
- 20 counts of Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM)
- 20 counts of Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material with Intent to Promote
- 20 counts of Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child
- 12 counts of Transmission of Child Sexual Abuse Material
- 9 counts of Possession of Pornographic Images of Sexual Activities Involving Animals
How the investigation started
The initial investigation began on May 28, 2026, after a School Resource Officer was notified that a juvenile student disclosed engaging in sexual activity with Kohn. The victim’s mother then discovered explicit sexual photos and videos Kohn had sent on the victim’s Snapchat account.
When Kohn attempted to meet the juvenile victim for sex at a designated location, MCSO detectives intervened and arrested him. He was originally charged with three counts of Lewd and Lascivious Battery, two counts of Lewd and Lascivious Molestation, two counts of Traveling to Meet a Minor, and Interference with Child Custody.
What detectives found on his phone
Following the initial arrest, Detective Lowder executed a search warrant on Kohn’s mobile device. The forensic examination uncovered extensive CSAM, including:
- Images and videos involving prepubescent children
- Identifiable local juveniles from Marion and surrounding counties
- The primary victim
- Images of sexual activities involving animals
Detectives also found evidence that Kohn recorded self-produced sexual abuse material with a juvenile and transmitted those files to other individuals — leading to the 81 additional charges.
Detectives believe there are more victims
Due to the nature of the offenses and evidence of self-produced CSAM, detectives believe additional unidentified victims may exist.
