Deputies say Decloedt believed that his neighbor wasn’t cleaning up after his dogs. They say he went to his neighbor’s home, opened the door without permission, and threw the dog feces at the victim.

That led to a physical fight as the victim tried to get Decloedt off his property. According to an arrest affidavit, Decloedt struck the victim in the head, then Decloedt grabbed a scooter and lifted it over his head and threatened the victim.

Deputies say Decloedt claimed that he and the neighbor had an understanding that they could enter each other’s homes without knocking, and that when he went to talk to the neighbor about the issue, it was the neighbor who shoved Decloedt first, leading to the physical fight.

Deputies say they spoke to the victim about the defendant’s claim that they had an agreement to allow them to walk into each other’s homes. The victim produced a recording he sent to Decloedt in which the victim reportedly told Decloedt that he was no longer welcome in his home.

Decloedt faces charges of burglary with battery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and simple battery.
