LAKE COUNTY, Fla. – A victim and their next-door neighbor were each found dead after an ongoing dispute regarding property lines, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
In a release, deputies said they responded to a home on Wednesday evening near Bay Road in Mount Dora in reference to a missing person.

“The complainant reported that the victim could not be reached or located,” the release reads. “Upon arrival, deputies observed a bullet hole through the passenger-side window and blood inside the victim’s vehicle.”
Deputies searched the vehicle, eventually finding the victim dead in the rear hatchback area beneath a blanket, investigators revealed.
Per the LCSO, this discovery kicked off an investigation, during which detectives spoke with the victim’s family members and neighbors.
During this time, deputies said they learned that the victim had been in an ongoing dispute with the next-door neighbor regarding property lines, leading investigators to pin the neighbor as a suspect.
That neighbor’s vehicle was spotted in the driveway, and law enforcement consequently tried to make contact with him at home, though they were unable to do so, the release states. As such, deputies obtained a search warrant for the house.
Upon entering the home, the LCSO SWAT team found the suspect, who appeared to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to detectives.
